Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Perpetual Picks (perpetualpicks.com, the "Service") collects, why, and what your choices are. The short version: we collect only what the Service needs to function, we don't sell it, and you can delete all of it yourself at any time.

1. What We Collect

Account data — your email address, username, and a salted cryptographic hash of your password (never the password itself).
Preferences — notification opt-ins, and any bankroll/unit-size figures you choose to save. Bankroll figures are stored solely so your own settings follow you between devices; they are never shown to anyone else.
Bug reports and suggestions — the message you submit, along with your username and email so we can follow up.
Operational logs — standard technical logs (IP address, request metadata) processed by our infrastructure provider for security, rate limiting, and debugging. These are used for abuse prevention, not profiling.

We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics, and the Service does not use tracking cookies. Sign-in state and display preferences are kept in your own browser's local storage.

2. How We Use It

To operate your account (sign-in, email verification, password reset).
To send emails you have opted into (pick alerts, weekly tracking report). Every notification can be turned off in Account Settings at any time.
To respond to bug reports and suggestions you submit.
To protect the Service from abuse (rate limiting, security monitoring).

3. What We Never Do

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for marketing.
We do not send marketing email — only transactional messages and alerts you explicitly opted into.
We do not place bets, hold funds, or connect to your sportsbook accounts, so we never collect payment or wagering account information.

4. Where Your Data Lives

The Service runs on Cloudflare (application hosting, database, and email delivery) and GitHub Pages (static site hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms. Data may be processed in the United States or other regions where these providers operate.

5. Retention and Deletion

Account data is kept until you delete your account. You can permanently delete your account yourself in Account Settings ("Delete Account") — this removes your account record, preferences, saved bankroll, and any bug reports you submitted. Operational logs expire automatically on our infrastructure provider's standard schedule.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information. Most of these you can exercise directly in Account Settings (change email, username, password; delete the account entirely). For anything else, contact us at the address below and we will respond within a reasonable time.

7. Children

The Service is restricted to users 21 and older and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21; if we learn we have, we will delete it.

8. Security

Passwords are stored as salted PBKDF2 hashes, sessions use signed tokens, authentication endpoints are rate-limited, and all traffic is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the data we hold — and we deliberately hold as little as possible.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be noted in the app.
